Licence Fees

The ACMA Apparatus Licence application structure consists of an annual tax plus an issue charge.   The issue charge is designed to recover costs involved with assigning frequencies and licence processing.

The cost structure adopted by Radspec is based on a similar principle.   Our assignment charge is normally less than the ACMA issue charge and includes the cost to submit the documentation to ACMA for their processing.   The annual licence tax also charged by ACMA is normally included with the documentation sent to ACMA for licence issue.

For information regarding our issue charge or the ACMA annual licence fee, please do not hesitate to contact our licensing or technical staff.   We will be pleased to discuss the licensing options and associated costs.

The ACMA apparatus licence fee annual tax is based on four parameters:

  • The band in which a service operates;
  • The Geographic area in which a service is entitled to operate;
  • The bandwidth of a service; and
  • The autherized power level (low power services get a discount).

The Geographic Location is divided into High Density, Medium Density, Low Density and Remote Density.   The areas are defined on the basis of spectrum demand.

We have recreated enhanced maps indicating the Licence Density Areas as specified by the ACMA. PDF versions are available on request:-

Queensland Brisbane / Gold Coast
North Brisbane / Sunshine Coast
Qld Density Areas
New South Wales Sydney / Woolongong / Newcastle
NSW Density Areas
Victoria Melbourne / Geelong
Victoria Density Areas
South Australia Adelaide
SA Density Areas
Western Australia Perth
WA Density Areas
Northern Territory NT Density Areas

If the proposed site is near a density boundary, please do not hesitate to contact our licensing or technical staff.   A simple query on our GIS system will confirm the density area applicable.
